musings from the lab

Just the deep thoughts which arise from spending long hours in the lab, field, office, greenhouse, and classroom.

It rained today.
I didn't get a birthday cake.
Our new campsite stinks.

I have 2 legs, 2 arms, and a head that works most of the time.
I helped a 13 year old catch a trout, walleye, and bass yesterday.
I'm vacationing in Canada
:P

Canada

Ô Canada! Terre de nos aïeux
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée
Il sait porter la croix
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits

we came
we canoed
we camped
and
WE FISHED

On June 3rd, I enjoyed the Kansas City invite. The service project was at a HUGE food bank called Harvesters. We help repackage deli meats and pasta. That night after the picnic supper, Brother Bob from South Bend had a bible study on suffering. It was a blessed weekend and close to home so I didn’t have to drive much:)

Lamont

So I've visited Lamont several times this past spring and have several pictures to show for it. I got my big turkey 5 days before the season ended. The beard was 10.75 inches long:) The fishing was good but like Canada in that it took work to get the fish to bite. A big thanks to Aaron on helping to build the bike rack. He did all the important welds and I finished it off without making too many mistakes! Stop by the Hunting Lodge and see it some time.
