The Flying Thing
Less than an hour ago, I was sitting at the table eating a late supper (b/c I was gardening this evening—pictures soon to be posted). Just minding my own busness when all the sudden I hear a thump. I look up and see this thing flying in circles around the living room. The first thought was, ‘what is a bird doing in the Hunting Lodge?’ I shut off all the lights and turned on the porch light with the door open. Back inside, I grab the Regent University blanket that Kelby gave me and stood by the fireplace, flapping the blanket. It was about then that I started thinking and saw the thing well enough to think it was a bat. I also realized that turning the lights off was pointless and a bit dangerous to my own body. After once getting it to the hallway and it proceeding to the dining room and on to the living room, I started to think about catching it with my blanket. Fortunately, it went down the hall way and into the bathroom. It stopped flying and I stared at the doorway. I went in. I came back out. I saw it really good. It was on the floor now, out of breath and nowhere to run. Somehow it managed to get on the counter and I went in for the kill. I used the blanket and some handy bucket to carry it outside and let it go. Man, it was mad. It screeched as I got the bucket in position. But it flew away quickly and quietly (at least to these old deaf ears).
Now I just ask myself why did that bat choose the Hunting Lodge? It is not like lots of other houses have all there doors open and the attic fan going. I have concluded that it was an ant-eating bat. Yes, it was looking for ants. Thus it came to the Lodge…
P.S. My apologies to all that have not had the wonderful experience of visiting or living at the Hunting Lodge. You likely did not follow the above story. That’s OK just schedule a visit soon.

yeah, if it was an ant-eating bat, there's no question as to why it chose the Hunting Lodge!
Congrat's on the successful capture and release of the thing!!
