Garden

So I had a great haul yesterday!

That white thing is an eggplant, which I have yet to decide how to cook. The other stuff you have to ID by yourself.

I have a plot out at Manhattan Community Gardens. I wondered about the wisdom of having a garden for relaxation when I work with plants for a living. But I was proven wrong because you can see how successful it has been.

PS. The biggest perk about having a garden at the MCG is they provide free water!
PPS. So far, I have had only one thing stolen--an entire cabbage plant!

How much does a plot cost? I've never heard of such a thing.

it's a good thing you IDed the eggplant for us, 'cause it's far from a normal eggplant. By the way, it's yummy fried. Yummy, but totally unhealthy.
Glad to see your garden is doing well!
See you this weekend!

Dixie & Dona: As noted by Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eggplant, the range of eggplant colors vary far from K-State purple. I have two plants, one white and the other is purple and is just now bearing fruit.

Doors: I remember as a youngster driving past the community gardens in Fort Wayne and my mom telling me about them. I never thought I would have one. Let me just say the cost, substantially less than $50, is minimal compared to the cost of starting and maintaining the garden.
