Losing Your Queen

I got a little too aggressive playing chess last night. Five minutes into the game, I was wrecking havoc on the enemy lines. It was great.

I was feeling that this might be a blow-out and my opponent might never play me again:( But I can not throw a game, it never seems right. (I’ll cross that bridge if I ever have kids)

Never fear! Moving my queen out, I took the pawn in the third row. Jason took my queen with the adjacent pawn. WITH A PAWN!

…so the game ended with two kings, rook and a bishop on the board.

I was hoping for a stalemate.

It got me thinking of the importance of protecting your resources. I took my queen for granted and assumed she was invincible in the face of danger. So to can we take our spiritual life for granted. We can assume it is invincible in the face of warfare.

How wise are your moves this week?

I made a pretty dumb move walking to class today. It involved tripping over a crack....but...I don't think those were the moves you were talking about huh!
