Christmas, New Years, and School

Seeing that I have been in Kansas about a week now, it is time to talk about my Christmas break and stuff that has happened the past month. Leading up to Christmas I was not able to attend the (big) Gerber Thanksgiving/Chistmas/Reunion, the Stoller Christmas, BYG caroling & candle lighting, West Lafayette caroling, or the PYG Christmas party. Instead I attended the Kansas City Christmas party, Kiowa caroling, and Garden Grove caroling. I barely made it to Garden Grove because of a Kansas snowstorm and freaked Tif out—twice. (At least by my version of the story)

So I finally made it back to Indiana and my family. We celebrated Christmas accourting to family custom with a big formal meal (on china) Christmas Eve. Because of a long standing partnership with Santa, we receive our gifts early and naturally do not wait till Christmas morning. After supper and doing dishes as a family, we read Luke 2 and open the presents. Per tradition, we finish the evening playing the game given to the family as a whole. Kailey was disappointed this year because at only 7 ½ years old, she does not read well enough to play Apples to Apples. It was sad and a bit cute when she realized this fact. It gives her something to look forward to and she still has lots of other games which she excels at (like Acquire).

It is really late and my tea is ready. I’ll just have to tell you about New Years and KSU later.
